Dr. Everett Case, DMD

Background

James Everett Case II, DMD, was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Case’s journey to dentistry was unconventional. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in History and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Initially, Dr. Case planned to become an attorney. After college, while working as a legal assistant in Washington, D.C., he began orthodontic treatment and developed an interest in dentistry. Through his experience as a patient and his observations of the profession, he was inspired to change course and pursue a career in dentistry.

Credentials

Dr. Case gained experience in dental research as a clinical research associate at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. There, he contributed to studies involving temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders through the school’s Orofacial Pain Clinic.

Dr. Case also volunteered at a free medical and dental clinic in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and spent time volunteering at a dental laboratory in Wilmington, North Carolina. These experiences provided additional exposure to both the clinical and laboratory aspects of dentistry.

Dr. Case was accepted to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he received extensive clinical training while treating a diverse patient population. After earning his dental degree from Tufts, he continued his education through the Implant Continuum at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, a program accredited by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. The intensive program provided advanced didactic training in contemporary techniques and materials used in dental implant placement.

Building upon the academic foundation he received at Columbia, Dr. Case sought additional hands-on clinical training in implant dentistry. He enrolled in a program through the Dominican Training Institute (DTI), conducted at the Instituto Odontológico del Este (IODE) in the Dominican Republic. There, he further developed his clinical skills in implant placement, bone grafting, membrane placement, and soft-tissue flap techniques.

Dr. Case has more than nine years of clinical experience practicing dentistry in North Carolina and South Carolina. His experience encompasses a broad range of general and restorative dentistry, including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canal treatment, dentures, partial dentures, and dental implants. He is committed to providing comprehensive dental care and helping patients address their dental needs in a comfortable, thoughtful, and individualized manner.

Personal Life

Dr. Case enjoys continuing to learn about many different aspects of general dentistry. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys fishing, watching football, lacrosse, and basketball, gardening, walking his beagles, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
Dr. Case and his family were recently blessed to welcome their second son and are enjoying this exciting new chapter together.
